AAKS is the eponymous brand of Akosua Afriyie-Kumi, a Ghanaian-born, London-raised, and now a citizen of the world. She started her own brand after working years in the fashion industry. Akosua decided to bring forward traditional weaving techniques from her beautiful country with a modern twist. Every bag is made out of raffia. They harvest dye and weave every piece of raffia that goes into their bags and baskets.

Appointed as an emerging designer from Africa by Vogue Italia, featured by Elle Decoration, Vogue, CNN, Forbes Woman Africa, Guardian UK, and many international publications.  And by just seeing their beautiful creations, you get to understand why.
